All Permanent Makeup treatments are done in two stages. With the first application of colour there will be some colour loss as the skin is renewing itself, and it is always necessary to do a follow up colour adjustment between 4-6 weeks after the initial treatment.

There are many variables which have an effect on the permanency of Micropigmentation, but generally you should expect your colour to start fading out after 1-5 years. Some of these include:

  • The age and condition of the skin.
  • The area of pigmentation eg you may notice the lower lashline where only a fine line is applied will have a faster fade out than possibly block colour through the browline.
  • Sun exposure. Someone who works outdoors and exposed to the sun more. There is not a pigment in the world that the sun can’t fade.
  • Certain skincare. Anti-aging products applied to the face.
  • Cellular turnover – rejuvenation.
  • Colour. The intensity and application of colour initially used.

After a year or more your colour will be fading and changing tone. I suggest a maintenance check each year. This gives me the opportunity to adjust any colour tone changes and put back colour thats fading out.

If you leave it to well after a year or more to come back it is not considered a re touch and I charge the new treatment fee and advise a follow up colour adjustment within 4-6 weeks.
